RESEARCH INTERESTS:

Magnetic Resonance Imaging

Primary research involves Magnetic Resonance Imaging. Research activities in cellular and molecular imaging, with the development of MRI techniques for mapping cellular migration patterns and molecular processes using iron-oxide contrast agents. These are important for monitoring stem cell homing in regenerative medicine and studies of inflammation characterizing numerous neurodegenerative processes.

Additionally, research involving the IBD-Atlantic 4T whole body MRI facility for the development of functional MRI acquisition techniques using specialized high-field MRI pulse sequences. These have the potential to provide high resolution, full brain coverage fMRI activity maps without the traditional image artifacts in inferior temporal and orbital frontal regions, facilitating many applications in cognitive neuroscience.
